A word from the CoCo's treasurer
Hi, everyone. I'm Peter Armstrong, and I'm now serving as treasurer for the newly elected CoCo board of directors. I thought I'd share a few introductory words about myself, then discuss CoCo's finances as well as some of our plans for 2021.

Wrapping up the inaugural year of CoCo tournaments
Instead of meeting up in Seattle or Oakland or New York or St. Louis, we all got together on our computers this year. But nine tournaments is still nine tournaments, and we're proud of the year we had as an organization. Today, let's take a moment and recap the virtual events we ran in 2020.

Recapping the eighth and final Computer Users' Remote Event
This weekend brought the eighth installment of our Computer Users' Remote Event (CURE) series of online 1-day tournaments. It was a simple event - eight players, seven games, full round robin. Everyone played everyone once, and we streamed the whole event on Twitch for a live audience. Here's what went down.

An update on the CoCo's governance teams
While we haven't been able to direct many live tournaments in 2020, we've had plenty of time to work on building an infrastructure for the CoCo. We added a Board of Directors in October, and we've simultaneously been working to build five teams of people focused on five key strategic priorities.

We've got a lot to be thankful for
It's been a rocky year for Scrabble. Tournaments all over North America and around the world have been cancelled. The community has been rattled by a series of off-the-board controversies. Despite all that, we're blessed as a community in a lot of ways.

How can we make the most of Woogles?
We're super excited about Woogles, and we want to explore ways to make the most of this new platform that we possibly can. And to do that, we'd love to gather some feedback from all of you.

Congratulations to our first woman CURE champion!
This past week, women made history in more ways than one. In our world of Scrabble, 5-time CURE participant Terry Kang Rau became the first woman to win a CURE tournament.

Starting to put the pieces together
Hello, everyone! As the first Chair of the newly elected Collins Coalition Board of Directors, I’m happy to share great news: The CoCo is now officially incorporated as a nonprofit organization!

The full story of why we founded the CoCo
We founded the Collins Coalition roughly one year ago, and by and large, we've sought to build a brand by harnessing positive energy. But the hard truth is that a lot of disenchantment with the status quo inspired the founding of the CoCo as well.

On Woogles, and on growing the game we all love
Last week, I had the privilege of chatting with the creators of Woogles, a new online platform for word gaming that went live to the public earlier in October. This week, I wanted to follow up with a perspective of my own. In short, I want to talk about how we grow the game.

Scrabbler Q&A: Team Woogles!
This past week brought big news in the Scrabble community - Woogles.io, a revolutionary new platform for online word gaming, was officially released to the public. To get the inside scoop on Woogles, I sat down for an interview with... the entire team.

CoCo virtual tournaments are back! Let's recap the CURE6
After a post-Virtual World Cup layoff to take stock of everything, we're now back to running 1-day tournaments again, and we got everything started on Saturday with our latest Computer Users' Remote Event. Here's what went down at the CURE6.

Announcing 3 new virtual 1-day Scrabble tournaments
For the remainder of 2020, our plan is to run three more virtual 1-day tournaments. For those of you who played in our initial 1-days earlier this year, this will be more of the same. Back in the spring, we ran the first 5 Computer Users' Remote Event (CURE) tournaments; this fall, we'll be back with 3 more.

Introducing your new Board of Directors
Last month, we announced that the CoCo would hold its inaugural elections. Today, we’re introducing your newly elected Board of Directors and Executive Director! They serve one-year terms and will lead the CoCo as it grows and expands.
