What directors say about directing for the CoCo
One of the most inspiring parts of my job is hearing directors express in their own words why they choose to direct for the CoCo. Many of their reasons for doing so moved me, and I’m excited to share them with you.

Previewing the 4th annual Labor Day Oregon Coast Open (LOCO)
The best way to spend Labor Day weekend is to round up 16 of the best Scrabble players (and coolest humans) in North America, spend the weekend together in a beach house, cook meals, drink drinks, enjoy beautiful oceanside views, and, while you're at it, sneak in 20 intensely competitive games of Scrabble.

Recapping this weekend's Potomac, Maryland tournament
This was a more intimate tournament, held at a private residence and with only 7 players, but it was still a great time, and an awesome way to spend the weekend. Chinese food twice in a row and 12 games of Scrabble - who could ask for anything more?

Announcing 4 new tournaments for late 2022 and early 2023
We have 4 more tournaments ready to go. A couple of them are already mainstays on the CoCo calendar; another couple are new events that we're sanctioning for the first time. All 4 should be awesome.

Recapping this weekend's Twin Cities Special tournament

Recapping the Seattle Summer Scrabble Tournament
After the madness of Word Cup, we were quite content to host a low-key tournament in our Seattle home with a great little group of players. Eight participants joined us from as far away as Portland, the Bay Area, and Southern California to play 14 games of Scrabble.

Reflecting on the Word Cup that was

Word Cup Day 5: Dave Wiegand is your champion!
The dust has settled, and we have a champion: Dave Wiegand. After outlasting a field of 39 competitors, Dave takes home a Word Cup trophy and a check for a cool $10,000. Congrats to the one and only Dr. Bing.

Word Cup Day 4: A three-man race for the championship
What was once Dave Wiegand's near-certain title is now up in the air. Dave is still in position to win, but he'll have to fight off two fantastic players tomorrow morning - Will Anderson and Jesse Day.

Word Cup Day 3: Wiegand pulling away from the pack
Day 3 at Word Cup unfolded a lot like the first two did - Dave Wiegand came, he saw, and he conquered. Right now, it sure looks like Dr. Bing is in a commanding position to win.
